What it does
It reads a d-scan. Paste the raw output of the directional scanner and HARUSPEX returns a structured picture: every hull classified against a bundled database of 529 types, sorted into combat, recon, logistics, haulage and other, with a proportional breakdown. This happens locally, in under a millisecond, and makes no network request. The reading is therefore exactly as fast in a C5 with no static as it is in Jita.
It names what matters. Signals of interest lifts the tactically significant hulls out of the list and groups them in threat order — black ops, command ships, heavy interdictors, interdictors, combat recons, strategic cruisers, logistics battleships, and the covert-capable classes. The first breakdown tells you roughly what kind of problem you have. This one tells you specifically.
It reads the furniture too. Field conditions catalogues everything that is not a ship, annotated where context changes the meaning. A mobile tractor unit means a pilot is running a site and is probably not watching their scanner. A deployed warp disruption probe means something is being caught right now. A cynosural field means whatever was invited has arrived. Combat probes mean an active hunter, and the Ministry notes that you may be the subject.
It forms a view. The operational assessment synthesises the above into a fleet archetype — gate camp, wormhole hunter gang, doctrine fleet, black ops drop, capital escalation, nano roam — with the logistics ratio where it crosses significance. It is produced by an analyst who has reached these conclusions before and finds them only mildly interesting.
The other two panels
Local takes a paste of the local roster and consults the public record on every name: how many have died, how dangerous the killboard assesses them, and which are known wormhole affiliates. It will not tell you whether any of them are about to kill you. That information is available elsewhere, typically in the form of a bright flash and a pod notification.
Monitoring watches the chat logs directly. Anyone who speaks in local is enriched and filed without further input, and the system name is detected from the log rather than asked for. Pilots who say nothing do not appear. HARUSPEX considers this an upstream limitation and has filed the appropriate documentation.
Collect it
HARUSPEX is the ancestor of AUGUR, which does the same office continuously and without being pasted into. The terminal edition remains in service.
